Plaza de la Merced is one of the most famous squares in Malaga. It has many restaurants and cafés surrounding it, with appealing terraces and shade from beautiful Jacananda trees. It is located just in the midway between Cervantes Theatre and Alcazabilla Street, and it is the square where all the famous Malaga´s streets lead. Picasso´s natal house is on one of these streets!
Plaza de la Merced also is a predilect venue for free open-air events and concerts. Also, at night, the atmosphere is very festive. Madre de Dios street, which is one of the small streets that end on Plaza Merced, is full of bars and pubs where you can enjoy a drink and have fun. All the interesting places in Malaga are within a very short distance.
